Mitigating risks at work
There are three main reasons for work-related accidents:
- external environments (for example, hurricanes, flooding, etc.)
- equipment (worn-out, spoilt)
- people
Moreover, people play a key role in every situation, whether they help to avert accidents in unfavorable external environments, take preventive care of equipment, act in emergencies or simply comply with technical safety rules in their daily work.
Most production companies have safety training instructions or provide training on a systematic and regular basis until the rules are automated. Detech consultants can help to make this education more effective. However, a specific percentage of employees know, but still violate t technical safety rules. It is no accident that experienced workers often become the perpetrators of accidents.
We conduct research into the personality traits of people inclined to break technical safety rules.
For this purpose we apply the following methods:
- Analyze work and study documentation on technical safety rules in order to create the profile of the ideal specialist. This stage is the starting point for subsequent diagnostics.
- Apply ability tests in order to assess the individual’s understanding of the information, ability to learn and identify the reasons for possible errors when taking decisions and actions
- Use a personality questionnaire – to determine the characteristics that are critical for compliance with the technical safety rules.
Detailed research, combined with the rotation of production personnel, helps to virtually rule out the possible emergence of work-related accidents due to the human factor.
